The Local SEO page tracks your positions in Google's local search results and Maps pack using BrightLocal data.

What's Tracked

  • Local pack rankings — Your position in the 3-pack for local search queries
  • Maps rankings — Your position on Google Maps search results
  • Local organic — Standard organic rankings for location-specific queries
  • Review signals — Rating, review count, and review velocity

Setup

Local SEO tracking requires a BrightLocal integration configured in Settings > Integrations. You need:

  1. A BrightLocal API key
  2. At least one location configured in BrightLocal
  3. Keywords with local intent flagged for tracking

Reading the Dashboard

  • Position charts show your local pack ranking over time
  • Competitor comparison shows where competitors rank for the same queries
  • Grid view shows position across multiple search locations (city grid)

Tips

  • Local rankings can vary significantly by search location — use the grid view to understand geographic patterns.
  • Review velocity (new reviews per month) is a strong local ranking signal.
  • Ensure your Google Business Profile NAP (Name, Address, Phone) matches your website exactly.
