Keyword Tracking & Rankings
Keywords are the foundation of your SEO strategy. Here's how to work with them.
Adding Keywords
Keywords are automatically imported from your GSC integration. You can also add keywords manually for tracking specific terms.
Ranking Data
Rankings are collected daily from DataForSEO across your configured markets (US, UK, CA). The rankings table shows:
- Keyword — The search term
- Position — Current ranking position (1–100+)
- Change — Position change vs previous check (lower = better)
- Search Volume — Monthly search volume estimate
- Intent — Classified intent (Informational, Commercial, Transactional, Navigational)
- URL — The page ranking for this keyword
Intent Classification
Every keyword is automatically classified by search intent:
- Informational — Seeking knowledge ("what is SEO")
- Commercial — Researching options ("best SEO tools")
- Transactional — Ready to act ("buy SEO software")
- Navigational — Looking for a specific site ("semrush login")
Tips
- Sort by Search Volume to find your highest-opportunity keywords
- Filter by Intent to focus on commercial or transactional terms
- Watch Position Changes to catch ranking drops early
