Google Analytics 4 (GA4) provides traffic, engagement, and revenue data that enriches the platform's SEO intelligence.
Data Collected
GA4 data is collected daily:
- Sessions — Total organic sessions by landing page
- Engagement — Bounce rate, pages per session, average engagement time
- Conversions — Goal completions attributed to organic traffic
- Revenue — E-commerce revenue from organic visitors (if configured)
- User demographics — Country, device category, and browser data
Setup
- Go to Settings > Integrations > Google Analytics 4
- Click Connect GA4 — initiates Google OAuth 2.0 flow
- Grant read-only access to your GA4 property
- Select the GA4 property and data stream
- Data collection starts at the next collection cycle
Revenue Attribution
For e-commerce sites, GA4 revenue data enables ROI calculations:
- Revenue by landing page — Which organic pages drive the most revenue
- Revenue by keyword — Combined with GSC data to attribute revenue to keywords
- ROI projections — Estimated revenue impact of planned SEO improvements
Tips
- Ensure your GA4 property has enhanced measurement enabled for accurate engagement data.
- For revenue tracking, your GA4 must have e-commerce events configured (purchase, add_to_cart, etc.).
- GA4 data combined with GSC creates a complete picture — GSC for search performance, GA4 for on-site behaviour.
